Joy Again

Joy Again Opening for Day Wave at Boot & Saddle May 11

Was there any feeling that brought us more joy during our childhoods than speeding down a playground slide? Philly six-piece Joy Again, brings us back to those youthful, and carefree times with their dreamy-pop vibes. They plunge back into a time of innocence with a substantial, buoyant sound that signifies the start of summer contention. The dog days ahead will easily be faced with such soothing, beach-worthy tunes. The group will be hitting Boot & Saddle tonight, where they'll be setting the tone for headliner Day Wave, a.k.a. Jackson Phillips, who recently released his new EP Hard To Read back in March. Boot & Saddle, 1131 Broad St., 8:30pm, $12, 21+ - Gina Rullo

New Track: "Looking Out For You" - Joy Again

It doesn't feel like too long ago local high school crew Forever Lesbians emerged victorious in our Featured Artist(s) Poll. Like most young artists, their creations eventually evolved and changed, and so did the group's name, which is now Joy Again. They caught the attention of renaissance man Shamir Bailey, who is currently managing them. The group has also signed to London-based indie label Lucky Number, and you can take a listen to Joy Again's lighthearted, lo-fi debut single "Looking Out For You" below, which recently premiered at NME.
